Hadena James wrote in her afterword that some of her readers might be disappointed in Triggered Reality but the only thing I found annoying was how quickly I read this book. Just discovered the works of Hadena James. All I have to say is watch our James Patterson! Triggered Reality is part of a series that I cannot wait to read. It reminds me of the early works of James Patterson, before he began to turn out a book or two every month. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes a good mystery.
Background on Asilins family and the start of the special group SCTU. Would give the stars but felt it was a little disjointed. It does give a different view of Eric but wanted more. Still I enjoy this series and look forward to the next one.
I have been waiting for this book. Finally we get the back story, Eric's story, at least some of it! Things are starting to click into place and the more I learn the more I realize I still don't know.
Throughly enjoyed finding out a little more about how SCTU started. Can't wait for more! And the back story on Eric was really good. It helped understand him better and allowed us to gain more insight into him and his methodology.
Wow I love how much this book fills in some gaps, corrects some opinions and show that conspiracies can happen even when you think everything is just the way its presented. Learning so much more about Eric was awesome, as well as seeing the beginnings of the SCTU. I can't wait to find out more about the conspiracy and find the actual leader. Such a great story!!
This book is not like the rest of the series. I actually read what I thought was the first 5 books before I read this Book 1. This is background info much of which was covered in following books but it is more detailed. Since the books I had already read were edge of your seat thrill rides with characters and humor on overload, all 5 🌟, this book was a bit disappointing. If I had read this book first I would not have continued the series so if you want to get a real feel for this series start with Book 2 Tortured Dreams. If you get hooked like I did you can read this book after to get a more detailed background.
Having followed Ms. James' D&R series, to which this is a companion, I appreciated getting a look into the back stories, and I am sure I will enjoy the books to come. I beg Ms. James to have someone check for typos before publication however. I also expect the following books to be a bit longer, more filled out then this opener, as she promised in the afterward. Eric's story was plausible, and I am sure we'll continue to learn more as we mover forward, but Goff's was a bit, well forced. His story line and the events surrounding it seemed to be a draft, not a first, but not a final polished piece for publication. A very quick read, it only took a couple of hours to read this novella. Ms. James, if you want readers to continue to pay for your books, at least for myself, the read should take more then a couple of hours.
